The Boston Babydolls
Auditions: July 29, 7:30 pm

We are holding one more set of auditions for THE WRATHSKELLAR. We are looking ONLY at burlesque performers (stipteasers). No burlesque experience is necessary, but some dance experience is.

Stripteasers remove clothing on stage. The Boston Babydolls never get naked and the least you will be wearing are panties and pasties. All stripteasers must demonstrate strong dance talent (both alone and in small groups), physical acting talent, and a comfort being undressed in front of an audience. If you are auditioning for one of these roles, you do not need to prepare an audition piece. You will be taught a short choreography.

We are looking to fill the following role:

Role: The Innocent/The Corrupted
Age Range (Please note the "Age Range" given is for the character. Performers may be of any age): under 25
Gender: Female

Character Description: The Innocent arrives at The Wrathskellar with her heart full of hope and her head full of dreams of success. Over the course of several acts we watch her rise in stature, but fall to the moral level of the other denizens of the tavern.

Additional Skills Required: The Innocent auditions for her place in the show. Any skill you have that seems appropriate can be used. This can be anything from singing or playing an instrument, to more obscure talents like hula hooping or making balloon animals. Really.

We are only auditioning a limited number of people. To get on the audition list, please send a note to THESCOOP at BOSTONBABYDOLLS.NET with your name and contact information (email, phone number). We will confirm all auditions.

Auditions take place Thursday, July 29 at 7:30 p.m. at B.A.B.E. (119 Braintree Road, Suite #208, Allston, MA 02134 )

Please bring
* A performance resume
* A photo of yourself
* A bra and a skirt with a button or zipper (not an elastic waist skirt)

The Wrathskellar is The Boston Babydolls take on a dark cabaret. It involves dancing, striptease, variety acts, music, and magic. It is a departure from our normal style and music, but still maintains the high production values and level of professionalism that are the hallmark of every Boston Babydolls show.

Rehearsals will be Wednesday and Sunday evenings starting mid-August. While every performer may not be required to be at every rehearsal, especially early in the rehearsal process, expect to be rehearsing at least twice a week by late September, plus practicing on your own.

Performances will be October 24 - October 31, 2010 at The Cambridge Y.M.C.A. Theater in Central Square (820 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge). Anyone cast in the show must attend all performances.
